Tour of Ruidoso

The 10th Annual Tour de Ruidoso is returning to its original venue, The MCM ELEGANTE (formerly The Lodge at Sierra Blanca) in Ruidoso. All event options will have the same start time, 8:00 AM and YES - Swiss Chalet Hill is your early morning wake up call.

After Nogal Rest Station, you’ll drop out of the evergreen forest into the Sonoran Desert and wind your way to Capitan, New Mexico. The Century riders climb to the Capitan Gap where Smokey Bear was found. From Capitan you continue east and then south to Ft. Stanton. Here you’ll begin the climb to the mesa and the Sierra Blanca Regional Airport. Open country and magnificent views will enchant you as you head back to the beautiful Spencer Theater where we will treat you to a wonderful afternoon of food, drink, and music.

The beautiful scenery will amaze you as you tour through history. Geronimo’s Apaches roamed these hills. Black Jack Pershing and the Buffalo Soldiers served at Ft. Stanton. This is the heart of Billy the Kid country. The Lincoln County War was fought in this area and you may still see a stagecoach crossing the mountains near you where Smokey Bear was born and buried.
